Helping Wichita Veterans, One Yard at a Time
Practical support, local contributions, and the work behind our Wichita-area lawn care efforts.
Lawn care is one of the practical ways A Veterans Peace Foundation supports veterans in the Wichita area. Our broader mission includes helping veterans connect with resources and find their next step. Work in a yard gives that mission a concrete, local expression.
A yard that needs attention can become another task on an already full list. Through our groundskeeping efforts, we focus on helping veterans with unattended yards as our available time and resources allow. The work starts with a practical need and a willingness to help.
Our founder, James Henley, has purchased lawn equipment personally to support this effort. Community contributions also make a difference. Wagon Masters has provided support that helped the foundation purchase seeds. We appreciate that investment in work happening here in our community.
These details are part of the foundation's story because they show what local support looks like in practice. Equipment is something we use to carry out the work. Seeds are supplies we can put to use. Each contribution helps build the resources behind our lawn care efforts.
We want this part of our work to grow responsibly. The amount of help we can provide depends on available equipment, supplies, time, and people. A request gives us an opportunity to understand what is needed and discuss what may be possible. It does not reserve a service date or guarantee that we can take on a particular project.
If you are a Wichita-area veteran with a yard that needs attention, start by contacting the foundation through Get Support. Tell us generally what kind of help you are looking for and where the work is needed. That gives us a place to begin the conversation.
If you would like to support the effort, contact us about the lawn care work and the resources we currently need. A conversation before offering equipment or supplies helps us determine whether a contribution fits the work we can undertake.
As we continue building A Veterans Peace Foundation, practical community work remains important to us. Our lawn care effort is one example of veterans and neighbors helping address a need close to home.
